Public Art
Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) has continued progress on its first major building project - the Lot and Office Transformation or LOT project. The project consists of two new office buildings and will house Sony Pictures Television (SPT). The completion of the development is expected this fall.
In connection with the project and to ensure compliance with Culver City’s Art in Public Places program, SPE has begun evaluating a significant public art installation. Working closely with the City’s Cultural Affairs department, key steps to date include hiring a well-established art consultant to oversee the public art process for SPE as well as interviewing and narrowing the field of high-profile artists for the project. SPE’s leadership is fully engaged in the public art program and committed to providing the City with distinguished public art.
Some of SPE's existing public art can be seen here.
Free Monthly Screenings: Senior Center
SPE continues to provide Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) DVDs for the Senior Center’s movie screening series. More than 2,000 Senior Center members enjoyed an eclectic variety of SPHE’s movies throughout the year, including classics such as Gandhi, new releases like Made of Honor and foreign and independent fare such as Sony Pictures Classics’ The Counterfeiters. Sony Pictures’ films are featured on the first Sunday of each month as part of the Senior Center’s "Sony Sundays" program.
